According to the Tainan District Prosecutor’s Office, three residents of Tainan in Southern Taiwan on Thursday are being hunted by the law for a life sentence because of the death of a baby girl last January due to domestic abuse.
The mother of the baby girl is named Hsueh. She is 17 years old. Her partner surnamed Li, her cousin, and her cousin’s husband is guilty for the death of Hsueh’s baby. Hsueh on the other hand, can’t be convicted for any illegal acts because she is a minor.
According to the prosecution, the baby had suffered a head injury and had had bruises surrounding her body. The three people, except the mother who is a minor, are accused of homicide and intentionally harming the baby.
After the police investigated the case, they found out that the four had been beating the baby girl with various objects, limit her food and nutrition, and deprived her of restful sleep.
The police had also gathered information that had helped them conclude that during the earlier hours of the day, the four people had hit the head of the baby girl on the wall because of her continuous crying and for spilling her bottle filled with milk.
The four people had admitted to beating the baby girl though they strongly defended themselves by saying that it was never their intention to kill the baby.
The four even brought the “cold body” of the baby girl to a KTV bar despite the fact that the baby’s body temperature had dropped and that her eyes had already rolled-up in her head.
Just moments later after being taken to a hospital, the baby was declared dead on January 15, 2019.
