OFW Gets Axed for Having Cancer, Now she needs your help

Baby Jane Allanas, 38 years old, a single mother of five children, a native to Palawan, was diagnosed with cervical cancer last January this year. She was diagnosed with stage three cancer.

She is an OFW in Hong Kong and is employed by a Pakistani. She said that despite the maltreatment from her employer she was still willing to continue to work for the same employer so that she can provide for her family. She said that her abusive employer made her eat leftovers and she was ordered to sleep in the small storage room in his employer’s house.

She was diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer when her sister, Mary Ann, asked her that she consult a doctor. When her employer found out that she was diagnosed with cancer, she was then immediately terminated by her employer.

Baby Jane said that even if she is sick, she is still willing to work to provide food for her five children living in Palawan, Philippines.

Her sister's Employer would have offered a job to Baby Jane but it is not allowed in Hong Kong to hire people with cancer. The employer of Mary Ann offered help by starting a fundraising campaign in Go Funding to help with Baby Jane’s medical expenses in Hong Kong.

As of the time of this writing the campaign had gathered an amount equal to HK $564,000. It is still not enough to cover Baby Jane's medical expenses in Hong Kong for the treatment of her cancer.  She needs at least HK $ 1 million.

Baby Jane decided to get treatment in Hong Kong than in the Philippines because she believes that the technology and facilities used in the Hospitals in Hong Kong are more advanced compared to the Philippines.
