Woman in Taichung was charged with theft after Entering an Arcade during Nighttime to Charge her E-bike
A woman who lives in Taichung was penalized for illegally parking her e-bike twice inside a claw machine shop. The claw machine shop is in the Taiping District. It was found out that the electric scooter was left to charge overnight inside the shop
After viewing the security footage, the proprietor of the claw machine shop was shocked to find out an electric scooter being charged and left overnight for two days in the arcade.
The footage was dated September 5. It revealed a woman with two children and another woman entering the arcade during the night while riding a scooter. The scooter was left in the arcade shop to recharge overnight.
The owner of the business uploaded to social media the photos of the captured footage.
The woman was enraged to have found out that she was being shamed by the owner of the arcade in social media. For revenge, she repeated her act and for the second time, she went with one child to the arcade during night time while riding her electric scooter on September 7.
After finding out, the owner of the arcade reported the incident to the police at 1:00 am.
According to the police, the woman’s name is Ms. Liu. She was later on called to report to the police station. She then explained to them that she lives near the arcade and had no space to charge her electric scooter in her house. She noticed that the arcade’s floor area was enough to accommodate her e-bike and so, she decided to charge her e-bike there.
Based on a statement of Ms. Liu to the police, she is willing to pay the arcade owner for the inconveniences she had caused.
The police said that she will be sent to the District Prosecutor and will be charged for theft.
