Families of the Fishermen who died in Nafangao Bridge may received NT$5 Million assistance



Taiwan International Ports and Corporation LTD. is now planning to give financial assistance to the families of the fisherman who died in the tragic accident in Yilan County on October 1st.

The Fisherman was trap inside the there boat when the Bridge in nanfangao suddenly collapse.

TIPC Chief Secretary LIn Chien-Ming said in an interview that the families of the fisherman who passed away Yesterday will receive NT$5 Million assistance, While the Driver of the Truck and 9 other fishermen will receive and assistance ranging from NT10,000 to NT$36,000.




 At the time of the writing, 3 Indonesian and 2 Filipino fishermen were declared dead on the incident.

According to the Yilan Emergency Operation Center, the three Victims from Indonesia were identified as  29-year-old Wartono, 32-year-old Ersona, and 28-year-old Mohamad Domiri while the last two victims were a Filipino identified as 44-year-old Andree Serencio and 46-year-old George Impang.

Authorities are still searching for the missing fisherman Filipino Romulo Escalicas 29-year-old.

Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) will give assistance in the repatriation of there bodies.

Burial and Financial assistance will also be given by the Philippine government to the families of the victims.
