Indonesian Foreign Worker Steals the Safe with NT$2.08 million.



The female Indonesian employee of a Taiwanese business owner had stolen the safe of her employer. It was revealed that the safe contains an amount of cash totaling to NT$2.08 million. The Indonesian employee had tried to run away with the money with her boyfriend. The two were riding an electronic bike and had placed the money in a loot bag. They were later on captured by the authorities in the area.




According to a report by CNA, the chief investigator of the Taoyuan County Police Bureau's Luzhu Precinct, Tsai Hsiao-Yueh had said that at eight in the evening, the police were alerted that a safe had been stolen.

The department had alertly and quickly created a special force to investigate on the CCTV footage.

Based on the report released by ETtoday, the team of police had found in the footage a boy and a girl riding an e-bike while the incident had occurred. The vehicle of the two people riding the e-bike had been traced through approximately 100 cameras. The two were later on found at the back of a vehicle behind a factory structure in the District of Luzhu.





The officers had first thought that they had followed the wrong people because the color of the motorcycle that they were looking for is not green as seen during the CCTV footage in the area of the incident which showed a red e-bike. After inspecting the e-bike, they had found out that it was newly painted and the red color of the e-bike had been spotted, described by the Liberty Times.





The authorities were able to capture the suspect who is a male Indonesian foreign worker and is 28 years old. Soon after, they were also able to capture the female suspect who is a caregiver and is 25 years old.

According to Tsai, the female victim had worked in the home of the victim for only three months before she run-away from work bringing with her the keys of the victim’s house.

After capturing and questioning the two suspects, the police had successfully recovered the safe and its entire contents. The safe had been returned to its owner.
