OFW in Taiwan with Gastric/Stomach Cancer Asks for Financial Assistance from the Online Community

Liezel L. Signio is a 33-year old who is an Overseas Filipino Worker in Taiwan from Bataan who had fallen ill while in Taiwan.

Recently, she had been diagnosed with gastric/stomach cancer. Social media posts were made by a workmate of Signio.

In an earlier post by her workmate on a social media platform, they were asking for financial assistance for the immediate operation of Signio. Signio’s CT scan showed that she is in the 2nd or 3rd stage of cancer.

According to the workmate of Signio, upon the operation, the doctors will be able to conduct additional tests to determine the exact stage of her cancer. After the surgery, she will undergo appropriate treatment for her condition.

The surgery was conducted in the National Taiwan Hospital Hsinchu Branch on November 5, 2019. Signio’s family and friends are asking the online community for financial help and prayers for her recovery.

According to her doctors, she needs to undergo Chemotherapy after the wounds from her surgery have healed. Her family had requested that she return to the Philippines while waiting for her wounds to heal.

Since the cost of medical services in the Philippines is quite expensive, her workmate posted a second message on a social media platform asking for prayers and financial help for Signio’s immediate recovery from the disease.

Her doctors in the National Taiwan Hospital Hsinchu Branch said that she will need to undergo Chemo Therapy as early as possible.
