PAL and Cebu Pacific Announce Flight Schedules after Philippines Lifts Travel Ban to Taiwan



The Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific had released a public announcement on Friday about the continuance of flight between Manila and Taiwan.


Both the airline companies continued their flights to and from Taiwan after the Philippine government lifted the travel ban it had implemented on Taiwan due to the 2019-nCoV epidemic.

PAL said that the company will start operating in the following flight schedules with routes going to and from the Taipei Taoyuan International Airport:

Every Monday. Wednesday, Friday, Sunday from February 21 to February 29:
PR 890 Manila-Taipei
PR 891 Taipei-Manila


Every Day, Starting March 1
PR890 to depart Manila at 6:05 AM and arrive in Taipei at 8:30 AM
PR891 to depart Taipei at 9:30 AM and arrive in Manila at 11:40 AM

From March 29 onwards, PAL stated that their standard regular flight schedule of two times a day (PR890/PR 891 and PR894/PR 895) is continued.

According to the PAL, the passengers who had their flights to Taiwan canceled can now book the restored flights in PR890 and PR891.

Cebu Pacific also released a statement about the continuance of its operations. The following are the information about these flights:

1. 5J 310 Manila-Taipei
· Departure time: 10:40 pm
· Monday, Feb. 17-Indefinitely until changed

2. 5J 311 Taipei-Manila   
· Departure time: 1:45am Monday/Wednesday/Saturday; 2:15am Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Sunday
· Tuesday, Feb. 18- indefinitely until changed


3. 5J 312 Manila-Taipei
· Departure time: 7:05 am

4. 5J 312 Manila-Taipei
· Departure time: 10:40 pm

5. 5J 311 Manila-Taipei
· Departure time: 1:45 am

6. 5J 311 Manila-Taipei
· Departure time: 10:45 am

According to Cebu Pacific, the passengers who booked flight but had failed to apply for the refund will resume their original flight schedule.

Passengers may ask for information regarding their flights through the Cebu Pacific website.


Two airlines postponed operating flights to and from Taiwan on February 10 after the DOH confirmed that Taiwan was part of the travel ban imposed by the Philippine government.

The travel ban is still effective over mainland China, Macau, and Hong Kong. The center of the 2020 Coronavirus outbreak was in Wuhan, China.
