Taiwan Ranked 1st with the Fastest Internet Speed in the World
Currently, Taiwan is ranked as the country in the world with the fastest internet by the ‘Global League rankings.
According to the Daily Mail, the researchers at WebsiteToolTester ranked Taiwan as one of the top countries in the globe with an average download speed of 85 megabits per second. The researchers of the study estimated that Taiwan internet consumers can download at an average speed of 5 gigabytes per movie in approximately eight minutes.
Singapore takes the second spot followed by the British island of Jersey, Sweden, Japan, Denmark, and Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Norway. According to the findings of the researchers, there are 18 out of the 25 countries with the fastest internet speed are located in Europe. Also, it was found that the average internet speed of the entire world had spiked from p Mbps in 2017 to 11 Mbps in 2019.
The results of the research had been sourced from speed tests provided by people from different parts of the world.
However, one of the downsides of their research methodology was that more web users only run a speed test during times when they are having problems with their internet speed. These problems include slow connection or connectivity issues in their homes.
According to the study, the internet speed of Taiwan had increased by 147% from 2017 to 2019.
The improvement of the IT industry of Taiwan had helped it reach a top internet speed ranking. High-tech is one of Taiwan’s top-performing sectors. It contributes 18 percent to the total GDP of the country. A majority of the sector is made up of electronic manufacturing businesses.
