Traveller's from Taiwan is now official Ban from Entering the Philippines

Manila, Philippines - On Monday the Department of Health clarified that Taiwan is now officially included on the list of countries with temporary travel restrictions.

Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo said on a press conference the reason that they have included Taiwan in the ban because it is part of China.

"If you look at the WHO map and the number of cases that we have, Taiwan is included in China. Since we have a temporary travel restriction and ban on China then Taiwan is included,”

“As far as the health community is concerned and the World Health Organization is concerned, Taiwan is part of China.”

Under the " One China Policy,"  Taiwan is considered part of China and just like the other countries the Philippines also follows the said Policy.

Taiwan has already sent an appeal to the Philippine government regarding the travel restrictions and it will be discussed on Wednesday in a meeting led by the Department of Health.

Travelers from Taiwan will now have to undergo the same ban just like those people coming from China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Filipinos and the ones who have permanent resident visas will have no problem entering the Philippines but if they are coming from the said countries with imposed travel restrictions they will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
