Northern Taiwan may experience temperatures as low as 10°



On Sunday, a cold surge will come to Taiwan. This event will bring temperatures as low as 7 degrees Celsius in different parts of Taiwan in the earlier parts of the week, reported by the Central Weather Bureau.


On Sunday morning, the mercury levels in the northern parts of Taiwan will drop. The highest in the daytime will soar to 20 degrees. In the remaining parts of the country, the highest will fall to 22-24 degrees in the afternoon.

The forecasted cold surge will affect the country until the morning of Wednesday. During that period, the temperatures in the evening will reach 7-11 degrees in the northeastern, northern, and central Taiwan. In the southern and eastern parts of Taiwan, temperatures will reach 12 -13 degrees.

The Central Weather bureau had released an orange cold weather warning from Sunday evening until Monday for New Taipei, Taipei, Keelung, Taoyuan, and Yilan.



The warning includes alerts for low temperatures 10 degrees and lower.

A yellow alert had been given to Miaoli, Kinmen, Hsinchu, and Taichung. These areas will be experiencing temperature drops of 10 degrees and below.
