Being a Filipino Domestic helper abroad might seem to be an easy job for others who haven't experience it yet but for those brave domestic helper it is not easy. For first-timers, there is a lot of adjustment that needs to be overcome this includes a new set of rules being imposed by your employer abroad, The major changes in your surrounding, being away from your family, homesickness, and loneliness because of some DH are working alone.

However, applying for this job is not that hard for this job doesn't require high educational attainment, skills and experience but owning these could be a very good advantage. the Data Gathered by the Philippines Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) in 2015, The data Shows that there are 194,835 domestic helpers that have been deployed in different countries in the world in the said year.  A large number of them has been deployed in some countries Middle East including Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, The UAE and Qatar.

The big question here is "How cash does a Filipino Domestic Helper earn in different parts of the world?" Below is the list of the country where Domestic helpers usually being deployed.


  • Bahrain - The average salary of a domestic helper is around BHD160 (Bahraini Dinar) equivalent to 22,493 (+,-)
  • Brunei - in this country Domestic workers earns US$400 or 21,000
  • China - Domestic helpers here are earning 4,500 yuan to 6,000 yuan  34,000 - 45,000)
  • Cyprus - DH in Cyprus ranges from 314 to 400 euros in a month (₱18,500 - ₱24,000)
  • Canada - DH here are being paid C$14.44 per hour (577)
  • Dubai UAE - in this country the salary of a DH depends on their employer and the length of their service they usually earn 1,500 dirhams or ₱21,000
  • France - in this country salary of a DM range between $650 to $750 or ₱34,000 - 39,000
  • Guam - DH here earn $600 to  $650 per month or ₱31,500 - ₱34,000
  • Hongkong - Salary of a Domestic helper in Hongkong differ depending on their employer. The average salary of a DH in Hongkong is usually HKD4,310 (₱29,000) but some of them are not that fortunate for they are only receiving HKD4,210 (₱28,200) other DH receives  HKD6,000 (₱40,000) up to HKD8,000 (₱53,700).
  • Ireland - A typical Domestic helper in this country earns around 4,300 euros (₱258,000+) However, this amount is not yet been verified
  • Israel - Domestic helper here receives a monthly income of $1,300 ₱68,300. Their monthly salary here also differs per employer.
  • Japan - Domestic helpers in this country earns ¥136,203 or ₱63,463
  • Kuwait - Monthly salary here of a DH range from 100 to 120 Kuwaiti Dinars or equivalent to ₱17,280 - ₱20,740.
  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - the monthly earnings for a typical DH in this country is around SAR 1,500 to SAR 2,000 (₱21,000 - ₱28,000)
  • Lebanon - The monthly salary in Lebanon for a DH is $400 or  ₱21,300
  • Malaysia - in this country a typical DH earns 1500 to 1600 Malaysian Ringgit  equivalent to ₱18,830 - ₱20,000



  • Oman - salary in this country for DH varies from 120 to 140 Omani Riyal or ₱16,300 - ₱19,000.
  • Qatar - a Domestic Helper working in Qatar could earn a monthly salary of 1,200 to  1,460 Qatari Riyal that is equivalent to ₱17,320 - ₱21,00.
  • Singapore - In this country, the salary of a Domestic Helper also differs per employer salaries in this country is from 550 to 750 Singaporean dollar equivalent to ₱21,000 - ₱28,7030.
  • Taiwan - The minimum salary in Taiwan of a Domestic Helper is 17,500NT (₱29,800) bonuses are not yet included. if we would include the bonuses it could reach 19,000NT (₱32,400)
