MECO releases video to Guide voters on how they can vote using the automated system


Manila Economic and Cultural Office recently released a video to guide Filipino voters on how they can cast their votes using the automated system.

The Overseas absentee voting in Taiwan started on Saturday, April 13, 2019, and will end on May 13, 2019. Filipinos in Taiwan can only vote for 1 party-list representative and 1 to 12 senatorial Candidates.

This is the first time that the Automated Vote counting Machines has been used in overseas absentee voting in Taiwan, this new voting system will read the paper ballots and will tally all of the results on May 13.

According to MECO, there are about 40,000 Filipinos who are registered to take part in this year midterm election that is 25% of the total numbers of Filipinos in Taiwan.





MECO would also want to clarify that their office will be open for Overseas Absentee Voting on April 18 and 19 though it was previously announced by MECO that their offices in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung will not be opened on April 18, 2019 to April 19, 2019 in respect of the celebration of the religious holidays celebrated in the Philippines.
