Facebook Launches New Dating Feature | Secret Crush
Facebook launches Facebook Dating with a “Secret Crush” feature that lets its users choose nine of their Facebook friends as their “secret crushes”.
The two users of the Facebook dating feature will only be notified of the identity of each other the moment that they marked each other as their secret crush. The person who is marked as a “secret crush” of a user will not know the identity of the persons who selected them as their “secret crush”.
The two users of the Facebook dating app will not be notified unless both of them marked each other as their “secret crush”.
The Facebook feature can be accessed after updating the Facebook application. After updating the Facebook app, its users will need to look for the Facebook Dating Button. After selecting the Facebook Dating button, the user will need to create a separate account.
After successfully creating an account in the Facebook Dating feature, Facebook will try to locate potential matches which will be dependent on the preferences and interests inputted by the user. The user will, later on, have the opportunity to express interest or pass on possible matches suggested by the new Facebook feature.
The new Facebook dating feature allows the user to send a message to their “crush” before a match can be made. The feature has a separate messaging platform from the Facebook Messenger app.
The users of the Facebook Dating feature are given the privilege to include their preferred match’s location, distance, gender, age range, and more.
The users of the feature will also have the choice to include their religion, height, job, educational background, and their opinion regarding having children in the future.
Charmaine Hung, Facebook Dating product manager, reminds the public that the feature will only be allowed to be accessed by people who are 18 years old or more.
The new Facebook dating feature is free of charge.
