60,000 Caregivers Needed by Japan due to their Aging Population
According to the Philippine Overseas Employment
Administration (POEA), Japan will need 60,000 caregivers in the next five years
because of their high aging population.
Based on Bernard Olalia,
POEA administrator, Japan’s has a big and growing population of aging residents
and so, it is expected that it will be experiencing a big labor shortage in the
future.
Any person who wants to apply to work as a caregiver in
Japan can send in their applications in POEA or in any other licensed
recruitment agency.
It is scheduled to open job orders for Specified Worker Visa
1 and 2 in the following month.
Olalia said that for both the government and employment
track, there will be no placement fee and no employment fees to be charged.
Bernard Olalia also added in his statement that there is no
need for experience to become a caregiver.
Nursing graduates and people with National Certificate 2 (NC
2) from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are
automatically qualified for the caregiving jobs.
The salary of caregivers in Japan is Y 200,000 or P95, 776.
There is a cooperative which is a member in a caregiving
institution and hospital in Japan that gives caregiver training to Filipinos.
This will help Filipinos to easily pass in their
applications to work as caregivers in Japan.
