Isko Moreko inaugurates the Country’s Biggest Free Dialysis Center in Manila

The government of Manila had started opening the doors of the biggest free dialysis center in the entire country. The free dialysis center is named Flora V. Valisno de Siojo Dialysis Center and it is located in Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center. According to the city mayor Isko Moreno, the new free dialysis center has 91 dialysis equipment. He also added in his statement that the total dialysis machine count will increase to 100 as supported by the National Kidney Transplant Institute.




The main goal of the new dialysis facility is to serve and provide good quality care and services to hundreds of the less privileged population in the city.

According to the vice mayor of the city, Honey Lacuna, as a doctor, she said the expenses that every dialysis patient spend per session can reach 2,200 pesos in public health centers while in private centers, it can reach up to 5,000 pesos.

According to Mayor Moreno, the center was named after the grandmother of the previous Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim to honor his services to the city. Former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim was also the one who started and finished the construction of the hospital where the center is erected.


“This is just a small recognition for the 12 years of service Mayor Lim rendered to Manila. This Siojo Dialysis Center will be now known as the largest in the Philippines,” the current Manila Mayor included in his statement.




“We enacted this because we want this (name) to last for life. If we want to heal the city, we have to give credit where it is due. It is only just,” Mayor Moreno also added in his statement.

Former Manila Mayor Lim was with the current Manila Mayor and Vice Mayor during the opening ceremony of the new dialysis center together with the blessing of the 4 new vehicles which will be used for transporting the patients of the center.

Moreno promised to the public that he will try his best to attain the level of accomplishments that former mayor Lim had for the city of Manila.
