Singaporean Car Rams through a Group of OFWs in Lucky Plaza, Singapore



Two Filipinos were part of the casualties to an accident that occurred in Lucky Plaza, Singapore on Sunday. Lucky Plaza is a shopping area of locals and is frequently visited by many overseas Filipino workers. Four others had also lost their lives in the accident.

Adrian Bernie Candolada, Singapore’s Philippine Consul General, had informed the public on Monday that 6 women from the Philippines, all of whom are OFWs, were involved in the car crash accident in Orchard Road.




The accident resulted in the death of two of the women while two are still in critical condition. The remaining two are not in serious condition and are recovering from the Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

According to Candolada, the car had suddenly driven off the road and rammed through the group of OFWs who were enjoying a good chat with each other on their day off at the side of the road. The Department of Foreign Affairs had recently contacted two of the six victims to the accident. Candola stated that the government will be assisting the families of the victims.

Candolada said that the suspect/ the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was already arrested by the authorities of the government of Singapore but the driver was able to post bail.
