DOH confirms the first case of Novel coronavirus in the Philippines.

Manila - The Department of Health in the Philippines has confirmed its first case of Novel coronavirus or 2019-nCoV.


It was announced by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III in a press conference that a 38 years-old Chinese woman from Wuhan Province of China is now positively diagnose for nCoV

According to Secretary Duque, the woman arrived in the Philippines on January 21, from Hongkong.


She was admitted on January 25 right after she sought medical consultation for mild cough.

Furthermore, the patient was asymptomatic at the moment, which means she had no fever and has no other symptoms.

DOH Sec. Duque urges the community to remain calm and Vigilant and practice a healthy lifestyle.
