Factory Fire in Shulin Burnt Money and other Personal Belongings of OFWs
A fire in a factory in Taiwan that had been reported by numerous foreign workers in Taiwan through Facebook. The factory of TYC Tong Yu Corporation employs foreign workers including Overseas Filipino Workers. TYC Tong Yu Corporation primarily manufactures stamping materials.
OFWs had shared with social media posts that the fire had also destroyed the money they’ve kept.
One citizen even said that one of the victims of the fire had lost money amounting to NT$100,000. Some citizens were sharing their insight on the lost money by saying that what is important is that the person who lost the money from the fire is still alive.
It was shared through Facebook that one of the victims of the fire is currently in the Intensive Care Unit after absorbing a blast during the incident.
The other victims of the fire were brought to the hospital for treatment.
Many OFWs in Taiwan had already sent relief goods for their fellow foreign workers who suffered from the fire. The photos of the relief goods were shared through Facebook posts. The Facebook posts included a caption showing their gratitude for the help of their fellow OFW in the foreign country.
