Registration for overseas absentee voting for Filipino's in Taiwan kicks off
Manila Economic and Cultural office had announced the start of registration for Overseas absentee voting. According to their Facebook post, Starting January 3 those individuals who will be renewing their passports will need to have an online appointment before they could renew their passport.
In addition to that, they also have mentioned that those individuals who are not yet registered to COMELEC are required to fill-up the overseas voting registration form.
Those individuals that would like to register or would like to transfer their registration to other MECO office are asked to bring their passport to the nearest office of MECO.
For Dual Citizens, you may need to bring a copy of the Oath of Allegiance.
Under R.A. Number 9189, all Filipino citizens (age 18 and above on the 9th of May, 2022) residing abroad and are registered as overseas voters of the Philippines, are allowed to vote for the President, Vice President, Senators, and Party-list Representatives in the Philippine elections.
The duration of the application period is from December 16, 2019, to September 30, 2021.
