Taiwan at its Coldest: Temperature Drops to 10 Degrees Celsius

The temperature had reached the lowest for this winter season on Wednesday. Its lowest temperature had reached 10 degrees Celsius, according to the report of the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).


Due to the strong cool air with temperatures ranging from 13 to 14 degrees Celsius, the northern part of Miaoli County is expected to experience such temperatures. In Kaohsiung, Taitung, and Pingtung, the temperature is expected to reach a range of 16 to 19 degrees Celsius.

The island-wide weather is expected to be cloudy. Taitung and Hualien are expected to experience rain showers, said the bureau.

The CWB said that the cold weather would last until the weekend. The temperature in Taiwan will start to improve at the weekend.


Strong winds will be experienced in the coastal regions of the country, including Green Island, Keelung, Orchid Island, Matsu Island, Penghu, Kaohsiung, and Kinmen.

Despite the cool weather, the Environmental Protection Administration said that the quality of air in Taiwan is in good condition.
