Taiwan confirms it's first Domestic case of 2019-nCov



On Tuesday, January 28, Taiwan's first domestic case of Novel Coronavirus has been confirmed.


According to the reports of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), a man on his 50's tested positive on Novel Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV. They believe that he obtained the virus from his wife who has recently returned from Wuhan on January 20.

His wife was the fifth recorded case of coronavirus in Taiwan.

On Sunday the man began to show signs of Coronavirus and when he underwent some test they have confirmed that he is positive for 219-nCoV.


The man hasn't recently been to Wuhan, China making him the first confirmed domestic case of coronavirus in Taiwan.

At the time of writing this article, there have been 578 suspected cases of Coronavirus in Taiwan and 8 of them have been confirmed positive for nCoV.
