CECC starts laying out their defense by preparing 400 beds for migrant workers who will undergo quarantine
For the migrant workers who need to undergo home quarantine for 14 days, Taiwan's Central Epidemic Control Center (CECC) made 400 beds at quarantine locations available.
Chen added that the beds are also for independent employers who cannot give rented accommodation for their workers who are quarantined.
On Thursday, as a drastic measure of CECC, foreign people have been restricted from entering Taiwan to halt the raising case of COVID-19.
135 cases of coronavirus are confirmed as of Friday. 102 were imported, including two fatalities.
Good thing, the migrant workers are said to be not included in the entry ban as long as they self-quarantine for 14-days when they return to Taiwan
The government from different quarters has received multiple calls regarding coronavirus in terms of finding accommodation for the workers who will be quarantined. CECC Deputy Commander Chen Tsung-yen (陳宗彥) discussed on Friday that the center has asked the one who supervises the Ministry of Labor to formulate a plan that can be easily managed.
Chen said that those migrant workers whose jobs are in construction or in the industry of producing essentials will get help upon having proper quarantine arrangements at home with the help of their employers.
The brokerage companies concerned in the caregivers and domestic helpers will be required to quarantine them when they arrived from abroad.
