Just in: 27 new cases of coronavirus was added on Taiwan's list



Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) shocked the citizens by announcing 27 cases of coronavirus and one death.

The good news is that Chen Shih-chung announced two more individuals had been released from hospital quarantine, which raised the total number of released patients up to 28.


At the press conference scheduled on Thursday, Health Minister and CECC head Chen Shih-chung declared that 15 of the imported cases were women, while men at the were at the count of 8 between the ages of 10 and 80.

He confirmed that 24 of the new cases traveled to Asia, Europe, or United States and the other three has contracted the disease at Taiwan itself.


The 111th case was a member of the Egyptian Tour Group. The person was tested positive on Friday, which is also the cause for other cases to emerge as five participants and an individual came in contact with them.




Two cases who came from the U.S. traveled together. (118th case and 121th case) They traveled on March 5 and returned on March 16, turning ill and tested positive for coronavirus on March 18.

The other pair were discovered to have attended the same event with the 85th case.  Because of this, three people at that certain gathering contracted the disease.

The 130th case is a classmate of 59th case, a teenage boy who traveled in January and only returned on March 5. She was diagnosed positive on 20th of March, making her third confirmed case at the school they attended.

122nd case is another member of a tour group to Turkey, which reported a few confirmed cases. This addition means that 14 people has been infected during the trip to Turkey. One person also came in contact with the travelers in their return.

The three domestic cases were the 124th, 130th, and 134th cases. A man in his 30s (124th case) has no traveling history pertaining to the fact that he didn't travel abroad.

On two days, March 12 and 13, the man met with his manager who returned from the U.S. He showed symptoms at March 14. He got ill on March 17 and tested positive on March 20. Two of his foreign colleagues also started developing the disease during same date he got ill and March 18, but it has yet to be confirmed by the CECC.

The 134th case did not show any history of travelling abroad. They were tested positive for the disease on March 20, yet family members didn't show any symptoms.
