Taiwan has enough basic supplies, says the Premier



In case the Corona Virus turned for the worse, many Taiwanese started panic buying in the hopes of stocking up their supplies basic needs.

In response from a Facebook post published on March 19 (Thursday), Taiwan Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) declared that the country has enough supplies for every citizen. He coaxed them to consume fruits and vegetable to improve the immune system. Still, he discouraged the citizens from hoarding. He said that those who would hoard will be severly punished by the law.


For the Taiwanese returning from abroad, he gladly welcomes them all, but even so they have to follow the 14-day quarantine at home and he advised for them to be responsible.

Su said that he is aware of the lack of medical resources in overseas and the government promised to take care of its citizens. He encouraged that Taiwan could be a model for coronavirus prevention if the citizens would take care of their hygine and also by protecting one another, according to ETtoday.
