Global Polling Firm Says 80% of Filipinos are Pleased with the Philippine Government’s Response to COVID-19



Malacañang shared the discoveries of Gallup International, a global polling business. It stated that 80 percent of Filipinos are satisfied with the Philippine government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.


President Rodrigo Duterte is grateful that 80 percent of the country’s population believes that the Philippine government was able to manage the COVID-19 issue well, says the spokesperson of
President Harry Roque during a press conference. He was referring to the outcomes of the poll conducted by Gallup.

The said poll was held from April 6 to 8 in different nations including, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines in Southeast Asia.

Only 18 percent stated that they were not satisfied with the response of the country’s government to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, 2 percent stated that they are undecided on which side to conclude.


Furthermore, the poll revealed that 86 percent of Filipinos stated that they are willing to set aside some human rights rules to help prevent the spread of the deadly illness.

Based on the website of the DOH, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of April 23 is 6,981. Also, there are already 722 people who have survived the illness while 462 individuals have lost their battle with the disease.
