Taiwan has recorded zero cases for the 3rd day
Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced on Tuesday (April 28) that there were no new cases of Wuhan Coronavirus has been recorded for three straight days.
This marks the 16th day that Taiwan has not reported a local case and that there were zero cases for domestic or imported cases for the first time.
As for the Goodwill Fleet cluster, the health department will continue on tracking the infected sailors' public movements.
1,916 contacts have been traced by the health department at the "Goodwill Fleet" (敦睦, Dunmu). 585 of those persons are currently undergoing home isolation, while 1,331 have administered self-health management.
Thus far, 262 of these contacts have tested negative out of the 321 who got tested for the virus. Taiwan has carried out 61,684 tests for COVID-19 since the beginning of pandemic, with 59,857 having the result of negative.
Out of Taiwan's 429 total cases reported, there were 343 imported cases, 55 were from local transmission, and 31 came from the Goodwill Fleet. Up to now, only six have died because of the disease, while 307 have been released from hospital.
The CECC suggests that patients should inform doctors of their travel history and the people they got in contact with recently when they seek for medical attention. There is also a disease prevention hotline (which is toll-free) at 1922 for those people who experience certain symptoms of the virus.
