Possible increase in salary will soon happen this year



Last February 19, Minister of Labor Hsu Ming-Chun had promised that Taiwan's minimum wage will surely increase this year despite the economies unfavorable conditions.

Yearly an evaluation is being held every August by the Labor Bureau together with concerned authorities to decide whether or not to raise the lowest pay permitted by law. Once approved the increase will take effect Next Year.







Since 2016 when President Tsai Ing-Wen assumed office, The minimum wage has been increasing at an average rate of 5% yearly. 
Just this year the minimum salary in Taiwan has increased from NT$ 22,000 to NT$23,00. President Tsai Ing-Win hopes that someday the minimum salary of the workers in Taiwan will reach NT$ 30,000.
