OFW in Kuwait Rescued after being abused by her Employer
Jessielyn Necesito Espanola, 49 years old, an Overseas Filipino Worker in Kuwait, was hit multiple times by his employer. The incident caused her to acquire lots of bruises on her face and on her arms and legs. Her heart was in pain because it saddens her that the kid that she took care of in the past was the same person who had accused her of a crime that she didn’t commit.
Espanola is from Cotabato, Philippines. She is the sole provider for her husband and three children.
The employer of Espanola had accused her of stealing jewelry. The employer got mad when Espanola repeatedly said that she did not steal anything from them.
They also threatened her that he will kill her if she does not return the stolen jewelry.
Jessielyn’s situation was made known to the Philippine authorities when her cousin, Rylee Angel Necor Necesito, also an OFW in Kuwait, posted Jesselyn’s letter (containing her current situation with her employer) on social media.
Through the help of the Kuwaiti Authorities and the Philippines Embassy, Jessielyn was rescued from her employer on the 17th of June, 2019.
Also, she was helped by the Philippine Embassy in asking for legal assistance in filing a case against her employer who abused her.
Though finally free from her abuser, she still worries for the future of her children. She even called out for help to the president of the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte, to help her continue to send her children to school.
