Fare-evader arrested in Pintung after biting the train conductor
Mr. Zhuang, 51 years old, a male Taiwanese, was arrested in Pingtung County in the morning of July 27th, 2019 after causing minor injuries to a train conductor by biting the train conductor’s arm after being asked to show his railway ticket.
Mr. Zhuang tried to hide inside the comfort room cubicle after being asked by the train conductor to show his ticket. At around 10:50 in the morning, the arrival of the train at Chaozhou Station, Mr. Zhuang tried to open the train’s door and when it finally opened he bit the arm of the train conductor.
Mr. Zhuang ran as fast as he could to ride a different train located on the opposite side of the platform. His escape was short-lived as he was caught by the officers of the Railway Police Bureau.
After some investigations, Mr. Zhuang was found out to have been a frequent offender of the law. He was coined by the railway police as a “repeat fare-evader”.
He is guilty of engaging violent actions towards a TRA employee. He will be charged a fine of $1,500 to $7,500 for his conduct of fare-evasion. Mr. Zhuang will be charged for a crime of causing physical injury.
