Mayor assured its citizens that Taipei will be prepared when a lockdown occurs
On March 25, Wednesday Taipei Mayor Ko-Wenje (柯文哲) said that if a lockdown is ensued due to Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), the capital is prepared.
Ko said that in case of the lockdown scenario's occurrence, plans are already laid out and in accordance with Taiwan's central government, it will depend on them whether the citizens will fight the pandemic or hunker down.
The mayor said that they still need to discuss everything with the central government.
Vice President Chen Chien-Jen (陳建仁) announced that Taiwan's case has lowered. Most of them are traceable, therefore the need for lockdown is not necessary. If a lockdown would occur, two million people will be affected in Taipei alone.
Ko said the cases are imported from other countries, which means the citizens of Taiwan are doing the right thing to prevent coronavirus from spreading.
