Migrant workers who leave Taiwan will be barred form returning to the country

Migrant workers who will leave Taiwan starting Thursday, March, 19 will no longer be allowed to re-enter Taiwan.

According to the announcement of Vice Labor Minister Lin San-Quei, all migrant workers who will leave the country will be prohibited from coming back.

This move is the latest precautionary measure by the Taiwan government to counter the spread of Coronavirus in the county.

According to the Ministry of Labor Beginning on Thursday (March 19), all migrant workers who want to travel abroad or return to their home county will no longer be given a re-entry permit by the National Immigration Agency (NIA).

The ban will be temporary and will be lifted once the COVID-19 wanes. For those migrants workers who are currently outside the country will still be allowed to enter for as long as they have a re-entry permit.

They also added that returning migrant workers who will be coming from the countries with level 3 travel warning issued by CECC will have to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival.
