Total of 16 Filipinos has been infected by Coronavirus in Hong Kong

On March 26 the Hong Kong Health Department officially informed the Philippine Consulate General that three (3) more Filipinos have tested positive for COVID-19.

 According to the statement of the Consulate General in Hong Kong, there are already 16 Filipinos who tested positive for Coronavirus. All of them are now undergoing medical treatment in various hospitals in Hong Kong.


The Consulate General also appealed to the Filipinos Community in Hong Kong to stay at home if possible and if there is a need to go out the consulate reminds them to avoid crowded places and practice social distancing.

"We also ask employers to respect the rest day of domestic workers who choose to stay at home," he said.

The Consulate General sincerely requests for the cooperation of Filipino Communities in Hong Kong in fighting the disease.


According to the report of the Department of Foreign affairs (DFA ) as of March 26, 2020, there are 203 confirmed Overseas Filipinos who have contracted the COVID-19.

In the Asia Pacific region, there are 86 confirmed cases. The Middle East has 21 Filipinos who are positive for COVID 19, 36 in Europe and 14 in Amerika.
